Botanical Name – Parahebe perfoliata (Derwentia or Veronica perfoliata)

Common Name – Digger’s Speedwell

Description - Unique perennial closely related to Hebes. This evergreen perennial does possess blue/grey perfoliate round leaves that wrap around the stem resembling a Eucalypt leaf. Growing tall upright and then sprawling forming a clump. Flowering from spring to summer with beautiful soft periwinkle lilac/blue flower spikes that are showy for weeks.  Fun and easy to grow giving a blue/grey colouring to the garden all year round.

Flower Time – Flowering from spring to summer

Size - Grows to 75cm high x 75cm wide.

Use - Excellent for borders, in garden beds or containers.

Position - Full sun to part shade and a well-drained soil.

Maintenance - Plants may be cut to the ground in early spring to regrow for the season. Mulch, requiring a light, regular summer water if dry. Frost hardy
