Description

For dramatic autumn colour, Tree Dahlias are hard to beat. They are giant plants with huge leaves and stems, and shaggy, hot pink flowers. Native of Mexico, Central America & Colombia, they have thick bamboo like stems. They are fast growing attractive, pendulous blooms easy to grow. The stems are tall, straight and thin, so they don’t take up much space, towering above other shrubs when in flower.

Care

Must be sheltered from wind and frost. Pruned after flowering (in winter), when the spent canes are cut back close to ground level. They can also be pruned in again in early summer if a more compact plant is wanted.
